Each year the Kansas City chapter of the American Society for Training & Development accepts nominations for best practice awards, which recognize metro area companies who have executed projects that demonstrate innovation, impact their business, and deliver measurable results. The awards are presented in January to four outstanding companies for their “industry best” performances during the year.
Burns & McDonnell had the honor of hosting these workplace learning and performance awards on January 17. A diverse group of companies were represented among the best practice winners. Check out this list of winning organizations: Johnson County Community College; City of Kansas City, Mo., and the KU Public Management Center; United Healthcare; and Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation.
Outstanding achievement awards were also given to: Grundfos Pumps Corporation; Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences; Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP; Terracon; Weight Watchers International; and Wolf Creek Nuclear Operating Corporation.
The awards are not only a chance for these winning organizations to celebrate. All who attend benefit from hearing about what their counterparts are doing. The event gives practitioners food for thought in their own workplaces and fosters stronger relationships among the individuals, as connections are made and ideas shared.
If you’d like to learn more about the awards, the companies who were recognized, and the projects that earned them accolades, visit the chapter’s best practice awards website or connect with them via Facebook, Twitter or LinkedIn. While you’re at it, consider connecting with some of these trailblazers through LinkedIn to keep the learning going!
